Call to Get Involved

Why Volunteer with Stonewood?

Hospice volunteering is one of the most rewarding ways to serve your community. You don't need medical training — just a willing heart and a desire to help.

Make a Meaningful Difference

Your time and presence bring comfort to patients and families during one of life's most profound journeys. Even a few hours a week can change someone's day.

Be Part of a Caring Team

Join a compassionate community of nurses, chaplains, social workers, and fellow volunteers united by a shared mission of dignified, loving care.

Flexible Commitment

We work around your schedule. Whether you can give a few hours a week or a few hours a month, every moment of your time is valued and appreciated.

Grow Personally & Professionally

Volunteering in hospice care deepens empathy, builds communication skills, and offers a perspective on life that is truly transformative.

Ways You Can Serve

There are many ways to get involved — find the role that fits your gifts and your schedule.

Patient & Family Companionship

Sit with patients, read aloud, play music, or simply offer a listening ear. Your presence alone is a gift to those who may feel isolated.

Respite Support

Give family caregivers a much-needed break by staying with their loved one for a few hours — allowing them to rest, run errands, or simply breathe.

Administrative & Office Support

Help our team behind the scenes with phone calls, mailings, data entry, and other tasks that keep our operations running smoothly.

Special Projects & Events

Assist with community outreach, memorial services, holiday programs, and special events that honor our patients and support grieving families.

Errands & Practical Help

Grocery runs, prescription pickups, light household tasks — small acts of practical help can relieve enormous stress for families in crisis.

Spiritual & Bereavement Support

If you have a background in ministry, counseling, or simply a compassionate heart, help provide spiritual comfort and bereavement follow-up.
